I’m a Partner and Chief Creative Officer at Lowercase Capital, where I co-led our early investments in companies including Uber and Blue Bottle Coffee. In Parallel, I’m the New York Times Bestselling co-author of “The Essential Scratch & Sniff Guide to Becoming a Wine Expert” and “The Essential Scratch & Sniff Guide to Becoming a Whiskey Know-It-All.” I also serve on the Board of Trustees for the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum and am a founding member of the Design Vanguard.
As a designer, artist, and philanthropist, I am always seeking ways to use creativity, community, and investment to inspire change. I’m a proud and active member of the #resistance and passionate about local, national, and global issues including preserving democracy, healing the planet, the plight of women and girls, access to clean water, and social justice.
Earlier in my career, I was a highly-recognized advertising creative, helping brands speak to a global audience with thought-provoking wit. Some good luck came my way in the business and I ended up with a collection of awards for my work that are now collecting dust in the attic.
I’m an all-American girl who grew up in Mauritania, The Gambia, Swaziland, Japan, and India. I am a trained Muay Thai fighter, certified yoga instructor, winemaker, volunteer, and mom to three kiddos under seven splitting my time living in a blue state and a red state.
